    Helps reduce risk.

Individually packaged single use length rolls can help reduce cross-contamination risk by 99% compared to unpackaged tape.*

*3M’s packaged single-use length rolls can help reduce exposure to bacteria and spores. In vitro testing on contaminated hard dry surfaces showed as much as 99% protection from pathogens such as MRSA, CRE, VRE and C. difficile when compared to unpackaged rolls of tape(1). Individual roll packaging helps minimize exposure of the tape to environmental contaminants from surfaces and hands. Practice good infection prevention technique per facility protocols and published guidelines, including environmental cleaning and proper hand hygiene before and after opening package.

  • illustration of applying tape to skin wihtout pulling or stretching
Apply tape to skin without pulling or stretching.

Pulling or stretching during application may result in tension blisters as tape attempts to return to its original state.

  • illustration of applying firm pressure to activate the tape adhesive and fully contact skin
Apply firm pressure to activate the adhesive and fully contact skin.

    Acrylate adhesives are pressure sensitive.

  • illustration of removing tape by loosening the tape's leading edge
To remove, loosen the tape’s leading edge.

Do not pull the tape perpendicular to the skin. For tape that is strongly adhered to the skin, consider using a medical grade adhesive remover to soften the adhesive along the peel line.

  • illustration of removing tape by stabilizing skin and removing the tape low and slow
Stabilize skin and remove the tape “low and slow”.

Stabilize the skin with one finger at the peel line and continuously move it along the peel line (ideally in the direction of hair growth) to support the skin during removal.

  • Anchoring bulky dressings
  • Immobilizing fingers & toes
