Apply tape to skin without pulling or stretching.

Pulling or stretching during application may result in tension blisters as tape attempts to return to its original state.

    Acrylate adhesives are pressure sensitive.

  • illustration of removing tape by loosening the tape's leading edge
To remove, loosen the tape’s leading edge.

Do not pull the tape perpendicular to the skin. For tape that is strongly adhered to the skin, consider using a medical grade adhesive remover to soften the adhesive along the peel line.

  • illustration of removing tape by stabilizing skin and removing the tape low and slow
Stabilize skin and remove the tape “low and slow”.

Stabilize the skin with one finger at the peel line and continuously move it along the peel line (ideally in the direction of hair growth) to support the skin during removal.

Suggested applications
  • When repeated taping is needed and preservation of “at risk skin” is critical
  • Securing over areas where skin may stretch (e.g., edema, distention, hematoma formation or movement)
  • Secondary securement for IV lines and tubing, central venous catheters, chest tubes, surgical drain tubes
  • When swelling or movement is anticipated
  • When repeated taping is needed
